We will use this page to keep Seniors and their families aware of information and events specifically for the Senior Class of 2024.  This page will be updated often, so check back regularly.

TIMELINE FOR SENIOR YEAR CLASS OF 2024

    • August 1st - The Common App Opens - commonapp.org - More than 800 diverse colleges and universities use this application
    • TBD Application Workshop with college admissions representatives
    • August 28th - SAT - this date allows enough time for colleges to receive your score
    • September 9th - ACT
    • October 7th - SAT
    • Continue working on college applications; researching scholarships
    • Ask people who know you well for recommendation letters. Ask for letters 2-3 weeks in advance, and do not wait until the last minute. Provide a resume or list of information to the person writing your recommendation letters.
    • October 28th - ACT
    • TSI testing will be available
    • November 4th - SAT
    • Submit applications for early decisions.
    • Continue working on college applications. BE AWARE OF DEADLINES! Many schools have December 1 deadlines for admissions and scholarships.
    • TSI testing will be available
    • November 30th – Herff Jones will be here from 9:45 – 10:00 AM to hand out graduation inf
    • Apply for financial aid in December using your 2022 tax return (everyone must apply) www.fafsa.ed.gov - Application is 100% free (FAFSA is a graduation requirement)
    • Discuss your second semester schedule with your counselor!
    • Check December deadlines for college applications
    • December 2nd – SAT
    • December 6th – Herff Jones in cafeteria at lunch for cap and gown ordering information
    • December 9th - ACT
    • Remember NHS will be closed for Christmas Break. Before you leave for the break, request all transcripts, recommendations letters, and any ACT/SAT registration information. Also, remember colleges are closed for Christmas Break. Make sure you take that into consideration in meeting your deadlines!!
    • Review your 7th semester transcript in order to ensure that it is correct. Top 5%, Top 10% and Top 15% are decided from this rank
    • KEEP YOUR GRADES UP!! Some acceptances are contingent upon successful completion of the second semester. Continue to visit the counselor’s office, and check for scholarship and college opportunities.
    •  Listen for morning announcements to make sure you have up to date information.
    • Local scholarship applications will go live in Mid-Late January. Be sure to check in the counselor’s office and apply!
    • February 10th - ACT
    • Check admission decision due dates and applicable fees.
    • Continue to check for college and scholarship opportunities in the counselor’s office.
    • LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS DUE LATE FEBRUARY (exact day and time tbd)
    • March 9th – SAT (digital version)
    • March 11th – 15th – your last high school Spring Break EVER!!
    • April 13th - ACT
    • Respond to college acceptance notices
    • May 4th – SAT (digital version)
    • May 15th - Academic Awards & Scholarship Ceremony
    • AP Testing
    • Final Exams
    • Attend required NHS senior events & meetings to ensure you can participate in graduation
    • May 24th - Graduation
    • Request to have your final NHS transcript sent to the college of your choice. For any Dual Credit courses, you must request a college transcript from St. Phillip’s College or TLU to be sent to the college you will be attending.
    • Write “Thank You” notes for the local scholarships you were awarded
    • Do not forget to say thank you to your parents, teachers, counselors, administrators, and others who have helped you through your college selection process.

Senior Pictures

2024 Official Senior Yearbook Portrait Information Flyer

For senior pics: Girls should wear a camisole (to be worn under the drape) and boys should wear a white tee for under the tux. No facial hair or facial piercings (ears don’t count). Wear whatever jewelry you want to appear in the picture, they do provide pearls if you want to wear them with the drape. Hair color must be in dress code (a color found on human beings in nature, as Mr. Pugh says). If you have questions please email me at jessica.limmer@nisd.us or message me through Remind. Thanks! If you are paying to do the "casual" photos, you may bring clothes to change into and props (musical instrument, football, etc.).


Retakes for senior pictures will be Nov. 7 on campus. Sign up details are available closer to the event from Mrs. Limmer (Jessica.limmer@nisd.us) or Mrs. Rodriguez, (Melissa.rodriguez@nisd.us).

Senior Parking Spots

Senior Parking Spots is a fundraising program run through Project Graduation.  The deadline to sign up for a Senior Parking Spot is Friday, July, 28, 2023.  Please click the link below to visit the Project Grad site for more information about this fundraiser, and the many other great projects they have coming this school year. (Please note, all questions about Senior Parking Spot & Project Grad activities will need to be directed to the Project Graduation Officers list on the Project Graduation site.)
